Fi.Le – Filiera Legale 2, an initiative co-funded by the European Union (PN Sicurezza per la Legalità 2021-2027), is officially launched. (has been launched)

The project aims to promote legal employment and transparency in the agricultural sector through digital innovation.

The project beneficiary is BMTI S.c.p.A., which will benefit from the contribution of project partner Italia Ortofrutta, selected through a public call for proposals.

New developments and target areas

Compared to the previous edition, which focused on the province of Foggia and industrial tomatoes, Fi.Le 2 expands its scope to include fruit and vegetable supply chains of three key regions:

  • Apulia: the Foggia area;
  • Calabria: the Rosarno area;
  • Sicily: the Trapani area.

The specific supply chains will be identified druing the project activities with the input of supply chain experts selected through a public call for proposals, the project partner, and any relevanto stakeholders who may be involved during the course of the project.

Digital tools

The operational core of the project is based on two technological pillars

  • Matching platform: designed to efficiently match labor supply and demand within the involved fruit and vegetable supply chains;
  • Business Intelligence: an advanced monitoring system that generates a “Legality Index.” This indicator supports competent authorities in identifying areas at risk of illegal practices within the agricultural labor sector.

Through the involvement of project partner Italia Ortofrutta and collaboration with institutional bodies and key stakeholders engaged throughout the process, Fi.Le 2 aims to establish a more ethical, safe, and competitive agricultural model for the entire community.
